The false narrative of Hunt is now repeatedly Andrew Bailey. The problem is not the small number of wealthy early retirees but the ageism of employers and recruiters resulting in a rising number of unemployed and over half a million economically inactive over 50s unable to find the employment they desperately want and need. This is another case of rich and powerful people mistaking their circle of aquantances for the wider public.

If only the government would put resources into building partnerships with age and employment experts, employers, local government and trade unions to promote the benefits of age diversity then we would have less labour market shortages and less poverty among seniors
