Wise Age was invited to give evidence at the House of Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee as part of its inquiry “Plan for Jobs and Employment Support”, looking at the effectiveness of government support to get people into employment. This event took place on the morning of January 25th 2023 and Wise Age Trustee Peter Murphy represented Wise Age on the panel of experts.
Wise Age was invited by the committee because of our work on the ground with Job Centre clients through our funded programmes (DWP’s DPS and DPS2 Flexible Support Fund provision, and also Trust for London).
The other panel members were:
Dr. Shriti Pattani, President at Society of Occupational Medicine
Professor Kevin Bampton, Chief Executive Officer of British Occupational Hygiene Society
Luke Price, Senior Research and Policy Manager, Centre for Ageing Better.
As a result of our evidence, we have been invited to submit written materials for circulation to the committee members.
